Ragi Roti Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup Ragi flour (finger millet flour)
- 1/2 cup water (adjust as needed)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon oil (optional)
- Ghee or butter for cooking
Instructions
Ragi roti, a nutritious and delicious recipe, is perfect for breakfast or dinner. This traditional Indian roti made from finger millet is not only gluten-free but also packed with nutrients.
1. In a mixing bowl, add the ragi flour and salt. Gradually add water, mixing with your fingers or a spoon to form a dough. The dough should be pliable but not too sticky.
2. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into balls. This will make it easier to roll out the rotis.
3. Dust a clean surface with some dry flour and gently flatten each ball. Use a rolling pin to roll out each ball into a thin circle, ideally about 6-8 inches in diameter.
4. Heat a tawa or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the rolled-out roti on the skillet. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until small bubbles form on the surface.
5. Flip the roti and cook the other side for another minute. You can press down with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
6. If desired, apply ghee or butter on top as it cooks for added flavor.
7. Once cooked, remove the roti from the skillet and keep it warm in a covered container. Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.
8. Serve hot with your favorite chutney, yogurt, or curry. Enjoy the wholesome taste of ragi roti, a smart choice for a healthy meal!
