Ingredients: 2 cups of Basmati rice, 1 cup of Urad dal, salt. Instructions: Soak the rice and Urad dal separately for at least 6 hours. Once the soaking is done, rinse the Urad dal and rice separately and grind them separately into a fine paste with some water. Mix the two batters into one, add salt and let it ferment for at least 12 hours. Once fermented, the batter should be ready to make into Idlis. Pour the batter into Idli molds and steam cook them for 8-10 minutes. Serve the Idlis with Sambar and Chutney. Enjoy your homemade Idlis!
