Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup water (or as needed)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (optional)
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour, salt, cumin seeds, and turmeric powder.
  2. Add the water gradually and knead it into a soft dough. Let it rest for a few minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle using a rolling pin.
  4. Heat a tawa or frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
  5. Place the rolled wheat flour circle onto the hot tawa and cook until tiny bubbles form on the surface.
  6. Flip the dosa and drizzle a little oil around the edges. Cook until crispy and golden brown.
  7. Repeat the process with the remaining dough, adding more oil as needed.
  8. Serve the dosa hot with chutney or your favorite dipping sauce.
