Vegetable Bread Biryani with Dalsa

Vegetable Bread Biryani with Dalsa

Ingredients

  • Assorted mixed vegetables (carrot, peas, bell peppers)
  • Rice (preferably basmati)
  • Spices (cumin, coriander, garam masala)
  • Oil or ghee
  • Onions (sliced)
  • Tomatoes (chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

To make Vegetable Bread Biryani with Dalsa, start by washing the rice thoroughly and soaking it for about 30 minutes. In a large pot, heat oil or ghee over medium heat and sauté sliced onions until golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.

Next, incorporate the assorted mixed vegetables into the pot along with the soaked rice. Sprinkle in the spices like cumin, coriander, and garam masala. Pour enough water to cover the rice, add salt to taste, and bring it to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let the biryani simmer until the rice is fully cooked and the water has evaporated – this should take around 20 minutes. In the meantime, prepare the Dalsa by boiling lentils in water and seasoning them with spices.

Once both the biryani and Dalsa are ready, serve them hot, garnished with fresh coriander. This dish is perfect for a healthy lunch option and provides a delightful mix of flavors and textures.
