Ingredients

  • 2 cups maida (all-purpose flour)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • ½ cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine maida, sugar, cardamom powder, and ghee. Mix well until crumbly.
  2. Add water gradually to form a smooth dough. Cover it and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll out the dough into a thick sheet and cut into diamond shapes.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the diamond-shaped biscuits until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels. Let them cool before serving.

Shankarpali is a popular sweet snack usually enjoyed during festivals like Diwali or Holi. It can be served with tea or coffee.
