Shankarpali Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups maida (all-purpose flour)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- ½ cup ghee (clarified butter)
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine maida, sugar, cardamom powder, and ghee. Mix well until crumbly.
- Add water gradually to form a smooth dough. Cover it and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a thick sheet and cut into diamond shapes.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the diamond-shaped biscuits until golden brown and crisp.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Let them cool before serving.
Notes
Shankarpali is a popular sweet snack usually enjoyed during festivals like Diwali or Holi. It can be served with tea or coffee.
