Moong Dal Chilla Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup moong dal
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger piece, chopped
  • 2-3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and soak moong dal for 3-4 hours.
  2. Drain the dal and blend it with little water into a smooth paste.
  3. Transfer the paste into a bowl and add chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, ginger, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Heat a non-stick griddle or pan and grease it with oil.
  5. Pour a ladleful of batter on the griddle and spread it into a round shape.
  6. Cook until the bottom side is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side.
  7. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  8. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
