Kara Kulambu with Pacha Payaru

- tamarind water

- asafetida

Kara Kulambu Recipe:
Kara kulambu is a spicy and tangy South Indian gravy made from various spices, tamarind, and vegetables. Here is a simple recipe for kara kulambu with pacha payaru (green gram).
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, cumin, asafetida, and curry leaves.
- Add diced onion, chopped tomato, and garlic. Saute until they turn soft.
- Grind coconut, ginger, and all the spices to a smooth paste.
- Add the paste to the pan and fry for a few minutes.
- Then add the tamarind water, salt, and let it boil.
- Once it starts boiling, add the cooked green gram to the gravy.
- Simmer the kara kulambu until it reaches the desired consistency.
- Serve hot with rice or idli.
