Healthy Dessert For Weight Loss/Basil Kheer Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup basil seeds (sabja seeds)
- 2 cups almond milk (or any milk of choice)
- 1/2 cup sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or a sugar substitute)
- 1/4 cup cooked basmati rice
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- Chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios) for garnishing
- Fresh fruits for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Soak basil seeds in water for about 30 minutes until they swell and turn gelatinous. Drain the excess water and set aside.
- In a pot, bring the almond milk to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Add the sweetener of your choice to the boiling almond milk, stirring continuously until fully dissolved.
- Mix in the soaked basil seeds, cooked basmati rice, and cardamom powder. Simmer the mixture for 5-10 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let it cool down to room temperature.
- Once cooled, serve in bowls or dessert cups. Garnish with chopped nuts and fresh fruits if desired.
- Refrigerate for an hour before serving for a refreshing treat.
