Chocolate Cake Without Oven

Ingredients:

  • 1. 1 1/2 cups (188g) all-purpose flour
  • 2. 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 3. 1/4 cup (21g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 5. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 7. 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 8. 1/3 cup (79ml) vegetable oil
  • 9. 1 cup (235ml) water

Instructions:

  1. 1. Preheat a large pot with a tight-fitting lid on the stovetop over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. 2. Grease an 8-inch (20cm) round cake pan and set aside.
  3. 3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. 4. Add the vanilla extract, vinegar, oil, and water to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. 5. Pour the batter into the greased cake pan.
  6. 6. Carefully place the cake pan into the preheated pot and lower the heat to low.
  7. 7. Cover and cook for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  8. 8. Remove the cake pan from the pot and let it cool completely before removing the cake.
  9. 9. Enjoy your chocolate cake without using an oven!
