Besan Chilla Recipe

Ingredients for Besan Chilla:

  • 1 cup besan / gram flour
  • 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 chilli, finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp ajwain / carom seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • water
  • 4 tsp oil
  • For Stuffing:
  • ½ onion, finely chopped
  • ½ tomato, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
  • ½ cup paneer / cottage cheese
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • for stuffing, 2 tbsp mint chutney, green chutney, tomato sauce
  • INSTRUCTIONS
  • In a large mixing bowl, take besan and add spices.
  • Now add water and mix well to form a smooth batter.
  • Prepare a flowing consistency batter as if we prepare for dosa.
  • Now in a tawa pour a ladleful of batter and spread gently.
  • After a minute, spread mint chutney, green chutney and place few slices of onion, tomato and paneer pieces.
  • Reduce the flame to medium and cook the chilla with a cover on both the sides.
